Sunfit Shirts
Suggestions for next summer, unless you live in the other side of the world.
As the ozone layer thins, the suns rays get stronger and more damaging
every year. Even in the UK, skin damage is a concern, particularly during
sunny summer weather. We are all advised by the experts to follow the lead
of the Aussies and Slip, Slap, Slop - Slip on a shirt, Slap on a hat,
Slop on the suncream.
But sometimes, even slipping on a shirt may not be
enough. Open weave cotton often provides only limited protection from the
suns rays. Yes, you can get sunburned through a shirt.
Nowadays, you have the answer: a range of Sunfit shirts, available at
Musto's. This lightweight cotton polyester fabric hides an important
difference from ordinary materials. The Sunfit fabric has a ceramic powder
incorporated into each fibre, which increases its ability to reflect the
suns harmful Ultra-Violet (UV) rays. This gives the material a much higher
Sun
Protection Factor (SPF) than ordinary cotton. In addition, the ability of
the fabric to reflect the suns energy, also keeps the wearer cooler. An
outside temperature of forty degrees centigrade will be dropped to thirty
degrees inside the shirt. Just the trick for a long, hot summer. Lets hope
we have one.
